Whether traveling to Israel or celebrating your child’s Bar/Bat Mitzvah close to home, Leket Israel has the perfect project to mark this special occasion in a meaningful and fun way.
For those visiting Israel, we encourage you to participate in hands on activities appropriate for everyone from grandparents down to toddler age children. Invite family and friends to partake in Leket Israel’s core projects to commemorate this momentous event:
Project Leket – Leket Israel’s gleaning initiative whereby thousands of volunteers each year help us pick fruit and vegetables for distribution to the needy all over Israel. Your child can bring family and friends to join in this significant work which is both rewarding and enjoyable. At the end of your gleaning session, we will present a personalized certificate in your child’s honor.

Sandwiches for Kids – Each day of the academic year, Leket Israel makes 7,200 volunteer prepared sandwiches for children from dysfunctional homes in 100 schools across the country. Spend a morning with us preparing sandwiches in our main logistics center in Ra’anana. Dedicate a day/week/month of sandwiches in honor of your son or daughter becoming a Bnai Mitzvah. A Leket Israel certificate will be given to your child in his/her honor including how many sandwiches he/she helped make for those less fortunate.

To coordinate any or all of the above, please contact Deena Fiedler at deena@leket.org.
If you will not be able to join us in Israel, let us create a personalized Chesed event or project to celebrate this special occasion. To see what we have done in the past, we welcome you to view: Mollie’s Bat Mitzvah. For more details, please contact Deena Fiedler at deena@leket.org
Let us help you keep your family and friends up to date on all your plans whether in Israel or abroad by creating a unique Leket Israel B’Simchas page where you can post pictures, information about your event, your child’s interests, etc. B’Simchas is also a great way to ask your guests to show support for Leket Israel in honor of this special occasion.
